Round 11 Review vs Bentleigh

The 48 point margin at the final siren didn’t do justice to the side that performed admirably throughout the match. Coming off a 122 point loss in round 2 against Bentleigh, the Rockers’ boys kept up with last years grand finalists for most of the match until a few late goals sealed defeat.
Without Kelly Spratt in the midfield, Corey Durie, Nick Jewell and Brad Meehan took the reins and helped the boys impact the scoreboard in the first half. Tom “The Iceman” Dewar was the main target across half forward, clunking everything that came his way. He went through three separate opponents in the first half before the horrendous conditions restricted his marking strength in the second half.
Andrew Ferguson and Sean Harris continue to shine as a formidable ruck duo. Cooper Ferries was once again the thick of the action and received a few swift uppercuts to the head for his troubles. Is it something about the fringe that just attracts this unnecessary abuse? Credit also to Jason Frydman who ran with one of Bentleigh's chief play makers, easily coming out on top. 'Jase' as he is affectionately known around the club, has been a revelation in recent weeks, since coming up from the reserves.
Unfortunately Corey Durie’s dislocated finger is the main news to come out of the match. Team favourite ‘ Corsa’ looks like he will miss the rest of the year after undergoing surgery on Sunday. Rumour is he will recover in time for footy trip though.
