Black Rock Football Netball Club could well be Bayside's best kept secret as a community club. The most recent winner of the Southern Football Netball League's Best Run Club award, they field three Senior Football sides and three Senior Netball teams. In 2018 the Jets will be launching an Under 19s football side. President John Burke says that BRFNC want to be part of a solution to keeps young men involved in sport and the local community. Noting a worrying trend of 18 and 19 year olds that are missing out on selection each week at many of the established clubs in the Bayside area. "By launching an Under 19s that is inclusive of all skill levels and backgrounds, we plan to keep more players involved in the game. Aimed at promoting mental health awareness. They hold events with guest speakers, promote and encourages members to talk to each other and look out for one another. And in 2018 there will be a focus on training up key club personal in the mental health space. The Jets Netball program continues to be a driving force behind it's growth and culture. Established in 2013 with a single team of friends with connections to the club and it's footballers, the 'Jetballers' have truly established their own identity and stamp on the club. Notably, 5 out of the club's 12 board members represent the netball side of the club.
