Some great news to report with young gun Mitch Carter today signing on for the 2013 season. The 19 year old key position player started 2012 in the forward line, before blossoming at centre half back in the 2nd half of the season. His second half of the year attracted him interest from other clubs, but the prospect of working with new senior coach John Burke and assistants Cory Durie, Steve Baranski and Andy Dewar was key to keeping him at the club.
Having already been lifted by the new coaching panel and the amount of new faces at training pre-Christmas. The signing has further buoyed the spirits of the playing group ahead of training resuming on Monday the 21st.
A club source was quoted “We’re ecstatic to keep Mitch at the Jets for 2013, having already had him developing at the club for a couple of seasons. Not even 20 years old, and as an athletic 6’3″ with great hands and a raking left boot, he is a player we can build the future around.”
