Tonight over 60 people attended Black Rock Football and Netball Club AGM to hear some significant announcements that will move this club forward.
The club thanks Dean Brostek for running the AGM in a professional manner.
“This club has demanded so much from so few, and for this club to move forward others need to step up to assist”, stated our new president, John Burke.
John will lead a dedicated executive team to manage the club which will allow the clubs previous president Nick MacMillan to focus on the important club development opportunities of Auskick, U19’s and Juniors.
The 2017 Committee
President: John Burke
Vice President: Andrew Ferguson
Treasurer: Brenton Henry
Culture and Player Welfare: Jeremy Starke
Football and Netball Operations: Jay Williams and Brent Rafferty.
General Committee: Dani Forward, Bek Neal, Annaliese Neal, Tanjil Fitzpatrick, Janelle Wright, Adam Turner, Michael Hogg
The AGM was also a great opportunity to present Brent Ward, the clubs new senior coach.
Brent is not only the clubs games record holder but also an experienced coach across junior and senior teams.
He not only brings a determined attitude to drive the playing group forward but also the passion and dedication needed to ensure success in 2017.
Brent has enticed another previous player Dean Gleeson to head up our fitness and strengthening department. Dean is a qualified PT at
Church Street Health & Fitness Club. We welcome Dean and the expertise he will bring to our playing group.
The appointment of Brent compliments the focus of our new committee to reconnect with our past by engaging with previous players, supporters and sponsors. Part of this focus is to build a club environment inside the rooms from past glories and achievements so they can be recognised and respected.
Every person at BRFNC is RELEVANT and vital for its survival, therefore we are ‘calling to arms’ all past and current players to be committed by participation. If you know of any potential players or sponsors we urge you to contact anyone on the committee so we can pursue these opportunities.
We are in the business to be competitive on field or court and to win premierships. 2017 provides significant opportunities so we ask everyone to get on board NOW so we can hit the year running.
