Women’s Footy Taking Off In 2022
Black Rock Football Netball Club’s inaugural Senior women’s football team will take the field in 2022 as the club moves back home to brand new facilities at Donald MacDonald Reserve in Black Rock.
BRFNC has strong a community connection and we see this team as a great pathway for the young women coming out of junior competition, as well as women in the Bayside area of Melbourne who want to play football, be active and join a community club. The new team will create history and to further enhance our 113-year-old club’s already amazing culture.
What is the club like?
Black Rock FNC is a small club where everyone knows your name. It’s an inclusive, positive, social, family-friendly and welcoming environment it’s an amazing place to socialise and improve on your sport.
BRFNC has a well organised and established committee that has the club strongly positioned off the field and strategically placed for a strong future.
What are the facilities like?
Bayside City Council has made a significant investment in recent times in upgrading grassroots facilities to support growing female participation. With the completion of the $4m Donald MacDonald Reserve Pavillion upgrade due in early 2022 as well as a full ground resurfacing, our women’s team will enjoy the best facilities in Bayside.
What competition will they play in?
BRFNC compete in the Southern Football Netball League, which in 2021 grew to a 14 team women’s football competition and offers a challenge for players of all skill levels and backgrounds.
The Jets field men’s and women’s football teams and women’s netball teams and they also have an Auskick program for junior boys and girls.
